in cyanwood street all days are the same
wives buying fish to cook for husbands they hate
next door neighbours still watering plants
and stray cats playing in the trash cans

in cyanwood street our squares are bus stops
in the pavement lines flow all the rivers we dropped
the moon hides behind radio masts
and satellite plates.

but there’s a hill at the end of that street
where just old people gather and look at the stars
everytime that you make me feel sad
i like to go there and dream
that i’m a part of its grass

in cyanwood street there's only one bar
and a house that is blue when all houses are white
and a wedding dress shop that for some reason fits
with a sign ‘we are closed due to grief’

but there’s a hill at the end of that street
